Where does Israel get its oil from?

Because Israel is in the middle east, one would think they have a lot of oil reserves, but the opposite is true. Golda Meir has the famous quote “Let me tell you something that we Israelis have against Moses. He took us 40 years through the desert in order to bring us to the one spot in the Middle East that has no oil!”

Since Israel has virtually no natural reserves of oil, it has to import oil for more than 99% of its oil needs. Most of Israel’s oil comes from Angola, Colombia, Mexico, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Norway.

See where the rest of Israel’s energy comes from.
